Police activated a manhunt in Devonshire tonight on Marsh Lane after they found a gun, when a man on a motorcycle ditched his bike and ran into Devonshire Marsh.
The incident occurred around 9:45pm in the area of Ornamental Iron Works.
A spokesman said the man “came to the attention of police resulting in the rider taking police on a high speed chase”.
“Police officers recovered what appears to be a firearm and at present a manhunt has commenced in the area.
The scene is active with officers looking for the suspect,” he said.
“We will update the public as more information becomes available.”
