Police executed a firearms warrant on Friday at a Pembroke residence off Factory Lane in connection with a gun incident near a nightclub.

According to Acting Detective Inspector Jason Smith, no arrests were made, but there was a “strong person of interest” they were looking for.

“This warrant was in relation to an ongoing active investigation involving the use of a Firearm,” he said.

He also confirmed that no firearms were seized in the raid, which happened at around 5.30pm.

The raid followed an incident where a man pointed what appeared to be a gun at a group of men in a car park near Ambiance nightclub in Angle Street, but no shots were fired on January 4 at about 3:45am.

“The investigation is ongoing and we are still making our inquiries,” he added.
