Police and first responders were dispatched to he scene of a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian and a car.

The accident occurred around 3pm on Tuesday (Mar 12) at the junction of Reid and Parliament Streets in the City of Hamilton.

“On arrival, it was ascertained that a 30-year-old female was struck by a motorcar while crossing the roadway,” a spokesman said.

“The vehicle was driven by an unidentified male who left the scene.

“Officers later located the vehicle, abandoned, along Angle Street, Pembroke.

“The victim was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where she was attended to for injuries which were not considered serious.

“She has since been discharged.

“An investigation into this hit and run incident is now underway.
