Police report a relatively quiet holiday weekend.
As of 9pm on Saturday, August 4, a spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said there were no major incidents islandwide.
Between 11pm Wednesday, August 1st at 11:00pm and 11pm Friday, August 3rd, there were nine collisions. Four resulted in injury.
Seven motorists were arrested for driving under the infuence, two individuals were arrested for drugs, nine people were picked up on outstanding warrants and one high speed chase.
“We would like to advise the public that the police will continue their highly visible presence on our roads and waterways for the duration of the holiday period,” he said.
“People should obey all waterway and road laws and be reminded that drinking and driving or riding under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is prohibited.”
