A female police officer currently on suspension, today denied that she posted a “grossly offensive” message on social media, in the lead up to the Black Lives Matter protest march held earlier this year.
Barbi Bishop, 43, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of sending a post over Facebook and Instagram that said: “All Lives Splatter. Nobody cares about your protest. Keep your a** out of the road.”
The Sandys Parish resident opted to have her trial in Magistrates’ Court as opposed to the Supreme Court for the offence alleged to have been committed on June 3.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released her on $3,000 bail and adjourned the case until November 30.
If convicted, the maximum penalties are a year in prison or a $25,000 fine or both.
