Police have released the name of 38-year-old man Jason Simmons, who tragically lost his life following a single vehicle motorcycle crash in Sandys on Tuesday night (Jan 31).

The accident occurred near the former Somerset Country Squire restaurant, around 11:55pm.

Mr Simmons was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A police spokesperson said: “A BPS Family Liaison Officer continues to provide relevant support to his loved ones.”

He also extended condolences to Mr Simmons’ family and friends.

“Investigators are renewing their appeal for any witnesses to this fatal crash to come forward,” he added.

“Anyone with related information that can assist is encouraged to call the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788, or the non-emergency reporting number 211, at the earliest opportunity.

“Alternatively, please share any information that you may have with a police officer you’re familiar with.”
