An 18-year-old teenager is today listed in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit following an early morning collision with a car near Sleepy Hollow Lane in Warwick.

Police say the accident occurred around 2:45am this morning (July 31).

Initial reports suggest the male motorcyclist was travelling west on Middle Road when the collision occurred. The car was travelling in the opposite direction.

A spokesman said: “The injured rider, believed to be an 18 year old St George’s man, was apparently in and out of consciousness at the scene and rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

At last check, he was listed in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

The driver of the car, said to be a 68-year-old Paget man, was also taken to hospital for treatment of less serious injuries, treated and later discharged.

Two passengers in the car at the time, believed to be a 27 year old Warwick man and a 19-year-old Devonshire man, were not hurt.

Traffic diversions were in effect for approximately three hours while the scene was processed,” he said.

Any witnesses are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.”
