Police today confirmed yet another shooting incident – this time in Sandys, where a man stopped riding his motorcycle in Warwick, said he was shot while riding “at the junction of Cambridge Road and Somerset Road in Sandys.

According to the report, the incident occurred around 1am this morning, when officers stopped him on Middle Road in Warwick, “as he made his way to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital”.

A spokesman said he was in hospital receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to his leg.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Stableford, of the Serious Crime Unit, said his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

This latest report comes hard on the heels of another report of gunshots fired in the Deep Dale Road area in Pembroke on Tuesday night. But at this point in time, police do not believe the two incidents are connected.

Both incidents are now under investigation.
