A 29-year-old Sandys Parish man is today recovering on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, following a single vehicle car crash near the junction with Church Road in Southampton that occurred around 4:55pm on Tuesday, November 6.

A police spokesman said: “It now appears that the car involved was being driven in the eastbound lane of Middle Road (in the vicinity of Five Star Island) when it collided with a roadside stone wall.”

Initially the man’s injuries were described as potentially serious, but at last check this morning, the spokesman said the driver was listed in stable condition.

There were no other injuries reported – although it is believed that there were two other men in the vehicle when the crash occurred,” he added.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses or persons with relevant information are asked to call Constable Alex Shreeve on the main police telephone number 295-0011.
