A 33-year-old Southampton man who was hit by a taxi near his residence on Horseshoe Road, has been admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with” serious abdominal injuries”.
According to police, he was struck by a taxi around 9:30pm on Saturday night. A spokesman said: “The taxi driver stopped and spoke to the victim who initially stated that he was fine resulting in the driver leaving the scene.”
A short time later, police said the man began experiencing severe pain and attended the hospital where he was admitted to the ICU with “serious abdominal injuries”.
As of this morning, the man was listed in stable condition, police said.
Police are now “appealing for the taxi driver in this incident to please come forward as well as anyone who may have seen this incident” or anyone with information that may assist, to contact police on 295-0011.
