Police dispatched tactical units to deal with a 34-year-old man with a bladed article, who was threatening residents at a private home on Cottage Hill Road in Hamilton Parish.
The incidnet occurred around 5:22pm on Saturday.
A spokesman said: “Tactical units were called and surrounded the house where the man was present.
“Subsequently, police gained entry into the house and the man was taken into custody at 8:10 pm without incident.
“An investigation into the incident is now underway and police would like to apologize to the area residents for any inconvenience the situation may have caused.”
