A 26-year-old Pembroke man and a 38-year-old man also from Pembroke, who apparently are neighbours, are at the centre of another police investigation into the stabbing of one man and another man arrested in connection with the incident.

A police spokesman said the incident occurred around 2:30pm on Tuesday, December 18, when  police officers were dispatched to a reported assault in the Spanish Point, Pembroke area.

The altercation occurred on a “path between Stovell Bay Road and North Cote West over the flying of a kite, with the older man brandishing a bladed article”.

The 26- year-old sustained a stab wound to his shoulder. However, the injury was superficial and he declined medical treatment.

“The 38-year-old was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.”

Inquiries continue and any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.
