Police are tonight appealing for any witnesses to come forward following a serious road traffic accident involving a car and a motorcycle on North Shore Road in Devonshire last night (July 25).

A spokesman said the accident occurred “outside Mid Atlantic Boat club” around 9:42pm.

“The male motorbike rider sustained a broken nose and other facial injuries as well as a broken ankle,” he said.
“He was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.”
The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired, after he failed the breath test.
“Traffic Collision Investigators as well as officers from the Forensics Unit attended and the roadway between Dock Hill and Barker’s Hill was blocked off while the scene was processed,” the spokesman added.
“An investigation into this incident has commenced and anyone with information is asked to call 211 or, the main police number 295-0011.”
