The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) has confirmed that lawyer Justin Williams “is in the custody of US Authorities” as efforts continue “to secure his return to Bermuda with regard to matters under investigation”.

A spokesman also confirmed that the relevant files on this case have been forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

“We await the outcome of their review of the evidence,” he added.

Police raided the lawyer’s home in Fairylands back in November last year. Two warrants, one under the Firearms Act and the other under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, (PACE) were issued for his arrest, in connection with “several matters including firearms, corruption and crime related matters”.
