Police are today appealing for witnesses to assist with a new investigation, after a man was stabbed in the area of Union Street in Hamilton on Friday (Dec 9).

A spokesman for the police said: “Shortly after 1.30pm, police received a report of a male in the area of Union Street in the City of Hamilton, with a stab wound to the upper body.

“Officers responded and located the victim near the junction of Union Street and Dundonald Street bleeding from an apparent stab wound to the shoulder.

“He was attended to at the scene by EMTs and transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment to his injuries, the extent of which remains unknown at this time.”
