Police are today investigating a robbery that occurred in broad daylight yesterday morning (Feb 17) at the junction of Ord Road and Cherry Hill Park in Paget around 9:30am.

The complainant, a 19-year-old woman, told police that “she was riding east on Ord Road, taking her 16-year-old friend to school when as they neared the junction with Cherry Hill Park, a white motorcycle with two unknown men approached them”.

“One of the men then allegedly snatched a gold chain off her neck and caused her to lose control of the bike,” a spokesman said.

“Both she and her passenger fell to the ground and sustained minor injuries.

“The suspects reportedly made a U-turn and drove away from the scene, travelling west on Ord Road.

“EMTs attended and checked the victims’ injuries, where were not thought to be life threatening.

“The suspects whose faces were covered, were on a white motorcycle.”

Police say the rider was wearing a white helmet and the pillion passenger was wearing a black jacket.
