Police are investigating another chain snatching incident that occurred on Thursday, August 9, this time on Barker’s Hill in Devonshire.
The incident occurred around 10:45am, while a male motorcyclist, who was travelling in a southerly direction along Barker’s Hill when two men on another motorcycle rode along side him.
A spokesman said: “The two suspects attempted to grab the victims chain before making their escape toward Parson’s Lane, Devonshire.
“There have been multiple incidents of chain snatching reported to police this week, and we believe that they are being committed by the same individuals.
“All of these incidents appear to have been opportunistic with randomly selected targets. We are again urging motorcyclists to properly conceal jewelery and other personal items when travelling to avoid being targeted.”
Police are now appealing to anyone who may have seen two men on a motor cycle acting suspiciously in the Barker’s Hill, Parson’s Lane or Vesey Street areas, to contact the Criminal Investigation Unit on 247-1044 or the confidential Crime Stoppers line on 800-8477.
