Police are today investigating two weekend vehicle fires that occurred on Saturday, during the early morning hours – one in Warwick and the other on Curving Avenue in Pembroke.

A spokesman said police and fire service personnel were called to the scene of a motorcycle on fire on fire around 4:25am in Pembroke.

Just five minutes later, police and firefighters were called out shortly after 4:30am to Scott’s Lane North in Warwick, where a car was found on fire.

The owner of the home was woken by smoke from the burning vehicle entering their residence.

The blaze was extinguished and the scene was forensically processed.

The spokesman added: “It has been reported a person was seen in the driveway of the residence where the vehicle was located, shortly before the fire started.

“There were no injuries reported and no fire damage to other property in either incident.”

Both fires are now under investigation.
