King Edward VII Memorial Hospital was placed on lockdown last night after a young man was stabbed to death at the wake for gun murder victim Jahcari Francis.

A second man, who was also stabbed during the incident that occurred at the West End Sailboat Club in Sandys, shortly after 7pm, was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the hospital’s Emergency Ward and subsequently released.

This latest murder was committed just a few hours after the family of Jahcari Francis laid their loved one to rest, after a home-going service at Christ Church in Devonshire.

In a statement released last night, Chief Inspector Na’imah Astwood said: “Unfortunately one of the males has succumbed to his injuries.

“The victim will not be identified until the next of kin have been notified. More information will be provided in due time.”

Mr Francis, 20, was gunned down on Wednesday, July 19th, in the same house on Upland Street in Devonshire, where his close friend Isaiah Furbert, 19, was shot and killed nine months ago. Police have already said their deaths were part of an ongoing feud between two gangs – now this!

Witnesses, or anyone who was at the boat club or in the vicinity, is urged to contact Acting Inspector Dean Martin of the Serious Crime Unit on 717-2074 or 247-1739 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
