A 26-year-old man sustained “a non-life threatening gunshot wound last night (Dec 28) when police were called out respond to reports of multiple shots being fired in the area of Elliot and Court Streets in Pembroke.

Police say the incident occurred just before 9pm. The victim was rushed to hospital in a private vehicle where he is receiving treatment to his injuries.

The suspects were said to be two men in dressed in dark clothing wearing masks and gloves, who were seen riding a dark coloured motorcycle.

Officers from the Serious Crime Unit spoke with the man injured at the hospital last night, while officers at the scene cordoned off Court Street between Angle Street and Dundonald Street to examine the scene.
Detective Sergeant Jason Smith is quoted as saying “there was a large crowd of persons in and around” the area when the shooting occurred near Bulldogs.
He appealed to anyone in that crowd “who can shed some more light to this” to give them a call.
