Police confirmed today that the 40-year-old man attacked and robbed at knife point is a Four Star delivery man, who is now under observation in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit with stab wounds to his neck and arm.

The incident occurred at the junction of West Side Road and Church Valley Lane in Somerset around 8:40pm Wednesday night (January 8), while he was making a delivery.

Police say he was trying “to locate the correct address for a food order”.

A spokesman said: “He was assisted at the scene by members of the public, police officers and emergency medical technicians before being transported to hospital via ambulance for treatment of injuries that included a laceration to his neck and arm.

One of the suspects is described as a brown complexioned male of slim build believed to be about 17 years old, approximately 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing around 130 to 150 pounds wearing all dark coloured clothing.

The other suspect is described as a black male believed to be about 20 years old, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing around 180 pounds wearing a black helmet and dark coloured clothing.

“Apparently the assailants took the food order before the younger suspect escaped on foot and the older suspect rode off on a motorcycle, both fleeing along Church Valley Lane,” he added.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses or members of the public with any information are once again encouraged to call the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477 as soon as possible.”
