Police confirmed tonight that four men were arrested on Sunday afternoon in connection with the firearm incident reported on Saturday night, involving “a lone gunman”, who “opened fire at a group of men” outside the Spinning Wheel Complex in Hamilton.

A spokesman said detectives continue to investigate the incident which occurred around 9:50pm on Saturday, September 14 on Court Street, near the junction with Elliot Street.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries and the scene was processed by “the relevant personnel”.

As of 8:30pm Sunday night, the four men arrested remained in police custody as investigators pursue leads on several individuals, who were in the Court Street/Elliot Street area “at the time shots were fired”.

Anyone whose personal property was damaged was also urged to come forward.
