Police officers attended the scene of an early morning single vehicle car crash to find that the driver had abandoned the car and left the scene of the accident.
The accident occurred around 1:55am Wednesday, May 23 on South Road in Paget.
A spokesman said: “It appears that the driver of the car involved struck a pedestrian crossing light pole in the vicinity of St. Paul’s Lane.
“The driver, believed to be a 33-year-old Paget man, apparently left the scene prior to police arrival and at this time it is unclear if he sustained any injuries.
“Works & Engineering personnel attended the scene to assess the downed pedestrian crossing light pole and the damaged vehicle was later towed away,” he added.
