A 52-year-old Devonshire man found unconscious on a boat in Flatts has been arrested on suspicion of operating the vessel while impaired.
Marine police responded to a report around 8pm last night of a vessel on the rocks with an unconscious man aboard at Gibbet Island in Flatts, off North Shore Road in Smith’s Parish.
He regained consciousness when the police officers arrived, and was subsequently arrested and transferred to a waiting ambulance for transport to the hospital’s Emergency Ward “where he was medically assessed and later discharged”.
A spokesman said he has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
