The Bermuda Police Service today confirmed the death of 69-year-old Howard Charles tragically marks the first road traffic fatality recorded on Bermuda’s roads in 2018.
A spokesman said today the investigation into the accident involving the carriage he was driving, pulled by two horses, around 3:20pm on Thursday, March 8th continues.
The accident occurred on Brighton Hill Road in Devonshire between Middle Road and Watlington Road East.
The spokesman added: “A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist the deceased’s family at this difficult time and any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to please contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.
