Police are investigating an early morning robbery at Belvin’s Variety on Glebe Road in Pembroke that occurred at 6:42am on Saturday morning.

According to the report, the suspect walked into the store brandishing a “bladed article” demanding money. Police say he was given an undisclosed amount of cash before he made good his escape.

He is described as a brown complexioned male of average build, who is 6ft tall. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 295-0011.

Also on the weekend crime sheet, police arrested a disruptive passenger on board a British Airways flight that arrived in Bermuda on Sunday evening. 

A spokesman said the man “was being very aggressive and belligerent to airline staff and as a result the male passenger once the plane landed was arrested and taken into police custody”.

A court appearance is expected sometime this week.

And police arrested a man who was spotted by a member of the public “kicking over bikes along Victoria Street” in Hamilton . Responding to the report police discovered an intoxicated male who was cursing and unsteady on his feet. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

And a woman was arrested on Friday when an off duty police officer, who was in the area of the Wok Restaurant in Southampton, when she noticed a woman sitting on her motorcycle with “a suspicious parcel”.

Police were summoned and a search was carried out. Two twists of what is believed to be illicit drugs was found beside the bike. The woman was arrested and taken into custody.
