Police have confirmed the road traffic death of Mazhye Burchall, one of Bermuda’s promising Under-20 and Robin Hood footballer, who tragically died as a result of a single vehicle fatal road crash that occurred early Saturday morning near the Trimingham Hill roundabout in Paget.
Mr Burchall was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead, marking the ninth road traffic fatality on Bermuda’s roads to date this year.
The young man’s fellow Robin Hood team members played against Devonshire Cougars at Goose Gosling Field last night. Both teams observed a minute’s silence before kick-off.
Meanwhile, police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who can assist with the last movements of the Mr Burchall, to contact Pc Wilkinson on 295-0011.
A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to assist his family during this difficult time.
A police spokesman also extended sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mazhye on behalf of the Bermuda Police Service.
