Police have confirmed that two people, believed to be an 18-year-old Pembroke woman and a 25-year-old Pembroke man, sustained non-life threatening injuries when the sailing vessel ‘Spirit of Bermuda’ and the Government ferry ‘Resolute’ collided in waters near Dockyard Friday night.

As the investigation by Marine Police continues, a spokesman said: “In addition to both vessels being damaged, apparently three motorcycles on the ferry at the time were also damaged.”

No further details on the circumstances leading up to the collision have been released to date. Meanwhile, the Bermuda Sloop Foundation has said that repairs to the ‘Spirit of Bermuda’ will take several weeks to repair, hopefully in time for the start of the student voyage season.
