The Bermuda Police Service today confirmed the death of 62-year-old Thomas Kyser, a Canadian national who died offshore yesterday after a marine incident near North Rock.

A police spokesman said the male visitor “was taking part in a snorkeling excursion when he lost consciousness in the water”. He was transported to shore via Coney Island in a marine vessel and then conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead.

The spokesman also extended “sincere condolences” to the family and friends of the deceased on behalf of the Bermuda Police Service.
