Police have now confirmed the death of 80-year-old Stuart Rothfield, a passenger onboard the Celebrity Summit Cruise ship, who was apparently snorkelling with a tour group around 11am Wednesday, August 23rd, when he was found unresponsive in the water near Dockyard.
As reported yesterday, a spokesman said he was subsequently “retrieved from the water, given CPR and rushed via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where, he was later pronounced dead”.
He also extended sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased on behalf of the Bermuda Police Service.
