Police have confirmed the death of 23-year-old Jokeem Richardson, who lost his life as a result of the three-vehicle accident on Blue Hole Hill yesterday.
In a statement released today, a spokesman also confirmed that the car driver, “believed to be a 55-year-old Smith’s Parish woman, was arrested in connection with this matter and subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries”.
The accident occurred around 4:15pm involving the motorcycle the victim was riding, a car and a tow truck in Hamilton Parish.
While extending condolences to his family and friends on behalf of the Bermuda Police Service, the spokesman said: “A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist Mr Richardson’s family at this difficult time.”
The young man’s death marked the third road traffic fatality on Bermuda’s roads this year. A fourth fatality was recorded in less than 24 hours when another livery cycle rider, a 68-year-old man lost his life following an accident in Warwick today.
