The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) has launched an appeal that will lead them to the people recorded in a video circulating on the local social media circuit, “showing individuals desecrating a grave”.
In a statement released yesterday, the police called it a “vile and disrespectful act”, and appealed for anyone with any information to contact them so they can “bring the perpetrator/s to justice”.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service is aware of several videos circulating on social media showing individuals desecrating a grave at a centrally located cemetery.
“This vile and disrespectful act, is strongly condemned by the Bermuda Police Service, and we are looking to bring the perpetrator/s to justice.
“We would also ask that members of the public who my receive these videos, think of the families and love ones of the deceased and refrain from sharing or forwarding them.
“Inquiries into this matter are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone with any information to contact 211 or the confidential Crime Stoppers line on 800-8477.”
