A Bermudian man and woman, arrested at the LF Wade International Airport on Sunday, remain in police custody tonight, on suspicion of importing illegal drugs into the island.
Detectives arrested a 47-year-old Bermudian female and a 54-year-old Bermudian male on their arrival back to Bermuda from the UK on February 4th.
A police spokesman said: “They were arrested on suspicion of importing controlled drugs into the island.
“A full investigation into this matter is being conducted by the Organised & Economic Crime Department – Drugs Unit, with the assistance of the Department of Customs.
“Both persons remain in custody while enquiries are being progressed.”
