The Bermuda Police Service (BPS), is today seeking the public’s assistance with the investigation into the fatal road traffic accident that claimed the life of a 26-year-old young man, marking the 17th death on our roads this year.

Police say the three-vehicle collision occurred on Palmetto Road in Pembroke, just east of its junction with Bishop Spencer Road, around 5:45pm on Christmas Day.

The accident involved two private cars and the motorcycle the young man was riding.

Sadly, he subsequently died at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, while receiving treatment for head, groin and leg injuries, sustained in the fatal crash.

A spokesman said one of the car drivers, a 35-year-old man, who left the scene, was subsequently arrested after he was found at a private residence on Middle Road in Devonshire.

Neither he nor the other car driver were injured.
