Police are today appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle car crash that occurred just before midnight on Friday (June 28), after they found the vehicle abandoned near Astwood Park in Warwick.
Police say the accident occurred around 11:45pm on on South Road in Warwick, near the junction with Warwick Lane.
A spokesman said they discovered “a damaged and unoccupied white Toyota RAV4 was found parked on the grass verge of South Road, in the vicinity of Astwood Park”.
“Checks of the surrounding area and at the hospital did not locate the driver, whose identity is still unknown.
“It also remains unclear if anyone else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash and whether any injuries were sustained or not.,” he said.
“Inquiries continue to determine the circumstances of this crash and any witnesses or members of the public with relevant information are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.
