Police confirmed the tragic death of another male motorcyclist who lost his life on Bermuda’s roads on Tuesday (Apr 12).

The two-vehicle crash occurred on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish around 3:30pm, when the victim, who was 29, was in collision with a truck at the junction with Radnor Road.

A police spokesman said the rider was rushed to hospital complaining of chest pains. He also suffered a head injury.

“While receiving treatment for what were determined to be life-threatening injuries, he succumbed to those injuries.”

Shadow Minister of Transport, Susan Jackson said yesterday: “It’s heartbreaking to hear of another young man losing his life on our roads. The One Bermuda Alliance extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased.

“Road fatalities have sadly reached a crisis point. I am urging everyone to use the roads responsibly over this long holiday weekend.”

Meanwhile, a family liaison officer has been appointed to assist the victim’s family.

A police investigation into the island’s fourth road traffic fatality this year is now underway.

Anyone with information on this incident, is asked to call 211 or the main police number on 295 0011.
