Police say the accident, involving a Works and Engineering truck, occurred around 6:50am on Wednesday on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Whale Bay Road.
A spokesman said: “Although the injured teen was said to be conscious and alert following the impact, she was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of potentially serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
“The truck driver was not hurt.
“Traffic was reduced to one lane in the area while the scene was processed, causing delays for morning commuters in the area.
