A man who admitted stealing a bottle of perfume from Brown & Co and a package of boxer shorts from the MarketPlace, was jailed for six months when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court this week.

Raymond Robinson, 60, who resides in Pembroke, also admitted that he disobeyed written instructions prohibiting him from entering the grocery store.

He was initially ordered to participate in Drug Treatment Court but was deemed unsuitable for the programme.

The court heard that Robinson has 30 previous convictions for theft.

Describing his criminal record as “horrendous”, Magistrate Craig Attridge ordered him to spend three months in custody for each theft offence, to run consecutively, with one month for trespassing, to run concurrently.
