In the final segment of a Bermuda Real series on fraternal miracle twins Emyr and Esai Bean, we go back to the unexpected interval deliveries at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Edonna and Ryan Bean were airlifted out of Bermuda facing critical complications on November 5, 2013. Nearly three weeks later their first born son Emyr was born weighing less than two pounds. Another eight days later the second twin was born weighing just over two pounds.

At $10,000 a day with around the clock supervision by their own personal nurses at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, their passage into life is estimated to run up to $3 million; including their mother’s medical expenses. Thankfully, most costs were covered by health insurance held by their parents.
