Nearly six months after their son was brutally stabbed to death in the parking lot of the Rural Hill Plaza in Paget, the parents of 27-year-old Johnathan Darrell have made a passionate appeal for closure.
In an exclusive Bermuda Real interview, William and Belinda Darrell sat down with Ceola Wilson to recount the fateful night that forever changed their lives.
The parents of four sons who are divorced, appealed to the estimated 50 to 60 people at Ice Queen on the night of August 22, 2015 to assist police to help bring their son’s assailant(s) to face justice.
When contacted for an update on the ongoing investigation, a police spokesman said: “The Bermuda Police Service is making steady progress in the murder investigation of 27-year-old Johnathan Darrell, whose life was tragically cut short after a stabbing incident that took place in the parking lot of the Rural Hill Plaza in Paget.
“Investigators are following a number of lines of inquiry however, Police are still keen to speak with anyone that can assist with this investigation. Anyone with any information should contact, Acting Inspector Jason Smith on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.”
