The One Bermuda Alliance sent out notices on Saturday, urging members to be a part of shaping the future of their party!

The conference will be held on December 4, at Pier 6, in the City of Hamilton from 6pm to 8pm.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

As we approach our upcoming leadership elections, we want to be open and transparent in our approach to ensure that all members are well-informed about the nomination and election process. 
Elections for the positions of One Bermuda Alliance Leader, Deputy Leader and two Deputy Chairpersons positions, will take place at the conference

NOMINATION PROCESS

Anyone interested in running for one of the open positions should obtain a nomination form from the OBA Office Manager and sign the declaration reaffirming support for the OBA and to run clean campaigns. 

Leader and Deputy Leader contenders:

Candidates must be a member of the party, an MP, and free from disciplinary action. Support required:

Signatures from three sitting MP’s and at least seven non-Parliamentary OBA Members from three Regions. 

Candidates for Leader and Deputy Leader may only stand for one position. Combined tickets are allowed, but must be stated during speeches and agreed upon during the signature gathering. 

Deputy Chair contenders:

Candidates must be a member of the party. Support required:

Signatures from two Regional Chairs and at least seven OBA members from three Regions. 

Nomination deadline:

All signatures must be submitted to the Office Manager by midday on November 27, 2023.

VOTING PROCESS

Voting cards will be provided at the party conference on December 4. Voting is open to all OBA members on the Parliamentary Register. Party membership can be obtained on the night of the Conference.  

At the event, Leader and Deputy Leader candidates will be required to give a six-minute speech and Deputy Chairperson candidates will be required to give a three-minute speech. 

Announcement of Candidates:

The Party Chairman will announce the candidates by December 1, 2023.
