New York Daily News: MANHATTAN – New York is back, baby!
Mayor de Blasio said Thursday that New York City would “fully reopen” from the COVID-19 pandemic on July 1.
“Our plan is to fully reopen on July 1. We are ready for stores to open, for businesses to open, offices, theaters,” de Blasio said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” show. “Full strength.”
Hizzoner credited the vaccination program with allowing the city that never sleeps to emerge from crippling restrictions designed to keep the virus in check.
He boasted that New Yorkers have received 6.3 million shots in arms, with more getting the jab every day.
“The vaccination effort is going to grow and grow,” de Blasio said. “We gotta keep working hard at that.”
