Three Progressive Labour Party Senators and a new MP were officially sworn in as Junior Ministers yesterday at Government House.
Senator Crystal Caesar, has been assigned to the junior portfolio of Tourism, Home Affairs and Economic Development.
Senator Jason Hayward will take on Education, Workforce Development, National Security, Social Development and Sports.
Senator Vance Campbell has been assigned to Finance, Public Works and Government Reform.
And newly elected MP Tinee Furbert has been assigned to Disability Affairs. She will join PLP backbenchers in the House of Assembly.
Ms Furbert was one of four PLP MPs elected in a PLP clean sweep (dubbed green sweep) at the polls at the east end. After months of pounding the pavement to meet constituents on the doorstep, she won the seat to become the new MP for St George’s South in the July 18th General Election won by the PLP 24 to 12 against the former One Bermuda Alliance government.
