All Government offices and public schools will be open today, following last night’s severe weather conditions.

National Security Minister Wayne Caines, issued a public services update this morning. 

“As is the normal process, the Ministry of Public Works personnel will assess any post storm related damage and conduct any needed repairs,” said Mr Caines.

The Causeway was monitored closely throughout the night, “with hourly checks being conducted”.

The Minister also took the opportunity to “thank the various uniformed services who were on duty last evening safeguarding the community during the severe weather”.

The Minister also thanked BELCO crews who worked throughout the night as well and “who continue to work this morning to restore electricity”.

As a final safety note, Mr Caines continues to urge caution as residents move about the Island this morning.

Motorists and cyclists in particular, are urged to “take extra care while travelling on our roads”.

The Bermuda Weather Service has indicated that the Storm Watch has ended and that the unsettled conditions are expected to gradually improve as the day progresses.
