National Security Minister Wayne Caines today extended his “thanks and appreciation”, to those who oversaw yesterday’s emergency response to the Cessna aircraft incident.

In a statement released this afternoon, and as Chair of the Emergency Measures Organisation (EMO), Minister Caines advised “that the EMO was kept fully abreast of all the developments regarding the Cessna aircraft mishap”.

“Our emergency personnel enacted the requisite safety protocols during throughout the incident, which is a true testament to their preparedness and specialized training,” said Mr Caines.

“Each member of our emergency service must be commended for their professionalism and bravery, and we’re all extremely thankful there were no severe injuries or loss of life,” he added.

The cause of the aircraft landing short of the runway at the LF Wade International airport yesterday, remains under investigation.
