The Ministry of Public Works issued another traffic advisory this week, reminding motorists that as of Monday (Jan 30), through to Friday, September 1, more trenchwork by BELCO will get underway.

This time its in the area of the utility company’s substation at Evans Bay through to Lighthouse Road in Southampton.

The single lane closure will be on the eastbound lane only and working hours will be from 7:30am to 6:30pm daily.

Traffic controls will be under direction of Intelligent Trenching representatives and will be managed via traffic control signals and signage.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes via Lighthouse Road and South Road.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
