New York Daily News: MANHATTAN, NY – A community in western Pennsylvania is in shock this week after a local mom was charged with shooting her two daughters in the head, killing both of them.
Police said Krisinda Bright called 911 on Monday afternoon and told dispatchers she had shot her children — 16-year-old Kiara Bright and 22-year-old Jasmine Cannady — at their home in Ambridge, about 15 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.
When cops arrived, the suspect was standing outside the house with blood on her hands and clothes, according to a criminal complaint obtained by local news outlets. Investigators went inside and found the first victim in the basement and the second in an upstairs bedroom. Both had gunshots to their faces and heads.
“It was a gruesome scene,” Interim Police Chief John Deluca told reporters at a news conference.

Bright, 48, was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of homicide. Her motive remained a mystery Tuesday, but police said the investigation was ongoing.
The woman offered a chilling account of her actions after being arrested. She allegedly confessed to shooting one of the children while the victim was lying in bed, NBC affiliate WPXI reported.
Bright told cops she then went downstairs and shot the other daughter while the victim begged for her life and screamed, “Please don’t shoot,” according to the station. The suspect reportedly said that she fired multiple times to make sure her daughters would die without suffering any longer.
The family’s neighbors were struggling to process what happened in their small town Monday.
“As far as I saw, she was always good to her kids. Her kids were always happy,” neighbor Sam Bruno told WPXI.
Bright is being held without bond at the Beaver County Jail.
