The Bermuda Police Service confirmed tonight that missing rugby player Mark Dombroski has been found dead and “foul play has not been ruled out”.
Acting Assistant Commissioner James Howard said the young man’s body was found at Fort Prospect, near the Arboretum in Devonshire.
Speaking at a second news conference this evening, Mr Howard said the search “unfortunately” came to an end just after 4:30pm.
The visiting 19-year-old student was here with fellow rugby students from St John’s University in Pennsylvania.
He was last seen at Dog House on Front Street at about 1:05am on Sunday, and later seen on CCTV in Devonshire.
Earlier today, Mark’s mother, Lisa Dombroski made a heartfelt plea for the safe return of her son.
“We love him dearly. We want him back,” she said. She was joined by her husband John Dombroski, and their sons two brothers, John and Kevin.
Ms Dombroski also thanked members of the local community for their “shoulder to shoulder” support during their time of loss.
Mr Howard noted that the “coordinated search” already conducted involved a full search of the areas east of East Broadway and Crow Lane, and the marine police unit searched Hamilton Harbour.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the circumstances of this young man’s death remains under investigation.
