News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – “Watching our students engage in sports education and STEM projects with such joy was heartwarming to see,” said the Minister of Education, Diallo Rabain.

“This is the third year the Ministry of Education has sponsored 20 public school students to attend the DREAM SPARK Summer Camp.”

Between August 1-5, 2022, 42 students between the ages of 5 and 16 participated in:

●        Innovative and intense basketball drills

●        Engaging STEM projects

●        Designing, building, and testing STEM projects

Minister Rabain added: “The DREAM SPARK Summer Camp has been an innovative bridge between STEM and sports education in Bermuda.

“In September 2022, we are launching our Signature Learning Programmes. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) will be one of the first Signature Learning Pathways offered at CedarBridge Academy.

“The Ministry of Education looks forward to the continued partnership with DREAM SPARK Summer Camp, as it provides valuable support to our students along their educational journey.”

Minister Rabain concluded: “By allowing students ages 5-16 to experience what STEM education offers, we believe it will help prepare them to select Signature Learning Programmes that reflect their true interests.”

Brandon Okpalobi, Founder of Dibia DREAM, Inc, shared: “We are thankful for the partnership with The Government of Bermuda and The Ministry of Education. Each year we can engage the youth in Bermuda through Sports, and STEM is amazing. Our program is designed to be the perfect blend of STEM exposure and educational development for boys and girls ages 5-16. Attendees are motivated to pursue their dreams as they leave with the confidence to excel academically and socially.”
