Minister of National Security, Wayne Caines, added his voice to the condolences pouring in following the stabbing death of 25-year-old Danshun Swann.
In a statement released this afternoon, the Minister said: “I join with the community in extending my sincerest and deepest condolences to the family and friends of Danshun Swann.
“Engaging in violence to solve disasgreements and disputes is not the answer, and I’m saddened that this incident has resulted in another young man being cut down in the prime of his life.
“The Ministry has deployed its resources such as our Coordinated Crisis Response Team to aid in healing the affected community. The Bermuda Police Service has made an appeal to residents for assistance, and I urge anyone with information to please help where they can.”
The victim was rushed to the hospital in a private vehicle, where he was later pronounced dead, after he sustained fatal stab wounds to the abdomen, in what police describe as a large fight involving at least 20 men outside Southampton Rangers Sports Club shortly after midnight.
Meanwhile, the appeal for information continues.
